We were lucky enough to get a private tour of a Thoroughbred horse farm in Lexington, KY. I grew up in the city so I don't really know a lot about horses or farms but I was able to experience and learn more about it through our short but up close and personal tour.
As much as Thoroughbred racing is profit making, it's also a social experience. I learned that if you're in it for the money, owning a race horse is not for you . An owner needs to have a passion for horse racing.
Thoroughbred racing is a social scene in and of it's own. Learning about the industry, the race day experience, making new friends and the thrill of owning a horse racing to victory sounds like a life changing experience that few will get.
